Who needs to apply
All visitors, including infants and children, must obtain an approved Electronic Visa (eTAS) before starting their journey.
You can apply for a Somalia visit visa for:
- tourism, including visiting family and friends
- business, including sports and entertainment
- transit through the Somalia
- a Permitted Paid Engagement
- short-term study (up to 6 months), including recreational course
- private medical treatment
- marriage or civil partnership
- academic visit, including teaching, exchange and visiting as a dependant of an academic visitor
Requirements
- Valid passport for at least six (6) months after planned arrival with at least one blank page.
- Selfie or passport-type photo.
- Contact information (email address and phone number).
- Arrival and departure itinerary details.
- Accommodation booking confirmation(s).
- Credit card, debit card or other means of payment.
Persons/Countries exempt
- Visa free (diplomatic, service, or ordinary passports): Rwanda, Malaysia.
- Visa on arrival (diplomatic, service, or ordinary passports): Djibouti, Ethiopia, Burundi, Mauritania, Tanzania, Uganda, Algeria, Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Comoros.
- Exempt: travelers with multiple-entry visas, residence permits, or UNLP passports.
Validity and notes
- Single Entry permit; once issued, it cannot be modified or transferred.
- Validity starts from the selected “Arrival Date in Somalia”. Entry must occur within 180 days from that date.
- Ensure your application data is accurate; incorrect information requires a new application and fee.
- eTAS cannot be extended once issued.
- Carry a printed or digital copy of your approved eTA when traveling.

For travellers visiting family
- Invitation letter from company
- Copy of registration of the company
For Diplomatic travel
- A Diplomatic, Official and Service passport
- An official letter from the Country of Origin/Organisation/ Foreign Affairs.
